Where can I find dog friendly hotel rooms in Robin Hoods Bay?

The Captain’s Quarters, situated at the top of Robin Hoods Bay, it’s the dog friendly place to stay if you’d rather not hunt for a hotel in Scarborough or Whitby. Every bedroom in our two Victorian houses welcomes dogs, and The Loxley Pub next door serves a doggy menu. Robin Hood’s Bay beach and the Cleveland Way start at the bottom of the road.

Does Hotel Victoria offer dog friendly hotel rooms?

All of the bedrooms in The Captain’s Quarters are dog friendly. That means the Cosy Doubles, the Classic Rooms, the Deluxe Rooms, the two-bedroom Superior Suite and the two accessible ground-floor rooms. Dogs aren’t allowed in bedrooms in the main hotel or in Osborne’s Restaurant.

Is there a charge for bringing a dog?

Yes, a small daily charge of £10, this is added to your room total upon booking, so please make sure you add the additional ‘Dog Charge’ before you complete your booking (you will be prompted to do this after you have selected the date of your visit, and your room). Please contact our team for any further questions on dog stays.

Do your rooms allow more than one dog?

Yes, our dog friendly rooms are suitable for up to two dogs. Due to various reasons such as room cleanliness, other guests staying in the Captains Quarters, and room sizes, ideally we prefer guests to not bring more than two dogs per room, however we are happy to discuss this further with you if this does not meet your room requirements.

Is Hotel Victoria a Family Hotel?

Yes, Hotel Victoria is a family friendly hotel situated in Robin Hoods Bay. Families stay in The Captain’s Quarters and the main hotel, where there are two options. The Superior Suites on the top floor of the Captain’s Quarter have two bedrooms and large bathrooms with partial sea and moorland views, they sleep a family or two couples. In the main hotel The Deluxe Moorland category includes one spacious family room and the Classic category includes one spacious family room .

Can my dog come to breakfast and dinner?

Yes. Dogs are welcome in The Loxley Pub for breakfast and dinner, where there’s a doggy menu alongside the Yorkshire ales and the fish and chips. On warm days they can join you in the Sea View Garden too. Osborne’s Restaurant is dog-free.

Can I leave my dog alone in the room?

We ask that dogs aren’t left alone in bedrooms. As The Loxley Pub is dog friendly, you won’t need to leave them behind for meals. If you’re heading somewhere dogs can’t go, we would advise speaking to our reception team in advance to see if we can help.

Are the beaches near the hotel dog friendly?

Robin Hood’s Bay beach, at the bottom of the village, welcomes dogs all year round. Boggle Hole is a mile’s walk along the shore at low tide. Whitby’s main beach and Sandsend have summer rules between May and September. The current restrictions state that;

Between May 1st and September 30th dogs are not allowed on the main central section of the beach next to the town amenities.
Dogs are however allowed on the outer stretches of the beach, these are the areas situated away from the town, such as the stretch heading towards Whitby. These allow all year round access for dogs.

What is there for children to do in Robin Hoods Bay?

Plenty. Families with children can enjoy a wide range of activities such as;

A day out at the Robin Hoods Bay beach exploring the rock pools or doing some fossil hunting
Adventuring out on one of the many great coastal trails such as the Cinder track or the King Charles III Coast Path
Visit Boggle Hole
Visit the Fylingdales museum in Robin Hoods Bay to learn more about the wonderful fishing history of the area.
